Course content
History of genetics, Counselling, Prenatal diagnosis, Genetic defects therapy, Chromosomes - analysis, chromosomal aberration, Mendel's laws of Inheritance, Sex linked inheritance, Assisted reproduction, Genetics of mitochondrial disorders, Molecular genetics of muscle diseases, Molecular genetics of neurological diseases, Molecular genetics of eye, Genetics of immunity, Genetics of behavior.

Learning outcomes
Principles og human genetics, autosomal, gonosomal and mitochondrial disorders and their genetic treatment, aplication of molecular biology. Ethics vs. Genetics.
Student is able to (after attending the course): - Describe individual proportions of important and perspective branch - List selected genetic diseases, their causes and manifestations - Explain the reasons of different type of chromosomal aberrations as causes genetic diseases - Describe the principles of cytogenetic and molecular-cytogenetic methods of chromosomal aberrations detection
