Course content
Specialization of nursing care as a field of study in the science system. Specifics and current state of science in the field of study of nursing care. Science components of the diagnostic system NANDA International, which helps recognize a deficit state of human needs. Connection between the concept of NANDA International and the structure of data collecting FHP - Functional and Dysfunctional Health Patterns. Current development and content of NIC classification for nursing care interventions and actions + NOC classification with the areas and scales for evaluating the effect of provided nursing care. Importance and their connection inside the Alliance N3 system - description of nursing care practice. Options of usage of nursing care classifications for research and documentation of nursing care. Current development of INCP - International Classification of Nursing Practice

Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to: - Categorize nursing care as a field of study in the system of science; - Specify the actual state of science and research in a field of study of nursing care; - Describe the science components of the diagnostic system NANDA International; - Characterize the connection between NADA International and the structure of data collecting FHP; - Present the actual development and content of NIC classifications for nursing care interventions and actions; - State the importance of the NOC classification and the areas and scales for evaluation of an effect of a nursing care; Describe the connection inside the Aliance 3N system - description of nursing care practice and documentation of the care; - Describe the actual development of the International Classification of Nursing Practice (ICNP).
Students can use the knowledge acquired during this course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Dialog

Students elaborate a final paper, proving the use of nursing classifications for research and nursing care documentation. The necessary components are: analysis of the chosen research study (from the nursing care terminology) in full version + according to the teacher's assignment. The credits will be obtained after elaboration and submission of the final paper. The exam is divided into two parts: written (didactic test) and oral (defence of the final paper and correctly answered teacher's questions). Requirements for students with an Individual Study Plan (ISP): same conditions + participation in a combined course of study and completing the test.
