Course content
Problematics of physical activity, prevention, sedentary behavior, methods of testing the physical capabilities, principles of physical loading with respect to age and gender of an individual, factors influencing energy expenditure, stretching and relaxation methods.

Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to get students informed about: - the theoretical and practical methods of testing physical capabilities, - the physical activity efficacy control, - the principles of physical loading with respect to the age and gender of an individual, - the factors influencing the energy expenditure during exercising, - setting the intensity of the load according to the pulse frequency, - using the palpation and monitoring the heart frequency through heart monitors. Problematics of stretching and relax exercising and their importance for the physical activity and health of an individual.
After passing the course, students should be able to: - characterize and explain the topics of the course Physical Activity and Health; - know about the problematics of testing physical capabilities; - Design programs of controlled physical activity; - Recommend options of relaxation exercises and justify its influence on the health of an individual (focus on the particular profession); - Apply the acquired information into teaching at secondary school (also incorporate interdisciplinary overlap information )
Prerequisites
Knowledge of somatology (topics of the course Somatology) is a necessary prerequisite.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work, Written exam

Active participation in lessons, elaboration of the assigned task. Each student elaborates a final paper on a given topic (maximum of 5 standard pages A4) and submits it into the LMS Unifor system at least one week before the date of the colloquium. A control and evaluation of the individual work by the tutor is necessary for entering the colloquium term and obtaining the credit. Topics of the tasks: Search for an expert study (academic article) concerning the problematics of physical activity and health. Elaborate the final paper and then present it. Requirements for students with an Individual Study Plan (ISP): same conditions + participation in a combined course of study.
