Course content
|
An application of qualitative research in non-medical health care fields. The interpretive, critical and social paradigm of constructivism. Methodology in the context of phenomenological, ethnographic, grounded theory, action research, discourse analysis, conceptual maps of nursing research topics and research in other non-medical health care disciplines. The recapitulation of research methods in qualitative research, related to deep interview, focus group, observation, field work, content analysis, text analysis, etc. The specifics of data processing and interpretation in qualitative research. The main characteristics of qualitative project focused to non-medical healthcare fields. The main structure of a scientific article with qualitative research results.

Learning outcomes

After finishing this course, students should be able to: - Describe an important of use of qualitative research in non-medical healthcare field - Characterize the interpretive, critical and social constructivism paradigm - Specify basic principles od qualitative research in non-medical health science - Recapitulate research methods, its specific of data processing and their interpretations - Describe the components of a research project in the context of non-medical health care field - Clarify the hierarchy of reliability of scientific evidence for qualitative studies - Analyze main structure of scientist article together with qualitative research outcomes.
Students should be able to clarify professional topics arising from the objectives of the course.

Student performance, Seminar Work
Creating and submiting a credit task- analysis of a sought- after qualitative study on a selected topic within the scope of non-medical health care disciplines. Requirements for students with an Individual Study Plan (ISP): same conditions + participation in a combined course of study.
