Course content
Role of psychological approach during the treatment of disease(d), problematic of relations diseased - disease, diseased - medic, diseased - environment, holistic approach towards diseased, personal preconditions for genesis of somatic diseases, psychosomatic relations and psychosomatic and somatopsychic model of health and disease, stress and its influence on the psyche, coping with difficult life situations, crisis intervention, Balint's and Rogers' approach towards human, psychological approach towards diseased in the chosen medical fields (traumatology, surgery, internal medicine, neurology, gynecology and midwifery, pediatrics, oncology, geriatrics, psychiatry), coping with chronic pain, psychological care of chronically diseased and diseased in a terminal state, during the process of dying and death, problematics of contact with the dying individuals' relatives.

Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to: - Characterize the bio-psycho-socio-spiritual approach towards a human psyche, - Clarify the terms health and disease from the point of view of Health Psychology, - Evaluate the role of factors influencing health and disease, - Conclude the principle and mechanisms of experiencing a disease, - Characterize the reactions of individuals on stressful situations and conclude the protective factors in the context of stress coping and other illnesses, - Characterize the relations diseased - disease, diseased - medic, diseased - environment, - Apply suitably obtained knowledge when in contact with different categories of diseased, - Cope with terminal situations with respect to the care of dying individual and connections with the relatives of the dying individual, - Apply the knowledge of adequate psychological approach towards a diseased in different medical fields.
