Course content
Organizational forms in the teaching of somatology; Adequate teaching methods in teaching somatology with emphasis on activating didactic methods; Spatial and material conditions for teaching; Pupil assessment methods in teaching somatology; Learning tasks. Key topics in teaching somatology: 1. Anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system. 2. Anatomical structure and function of individual sections of the digestive tract, liver and pancreas. 3. Anatomical structure and function of kidneys and genitals. 4. Anatomy and function of endocrine glands. 5. Basic anatomical structure of the nervous system, central and peripheral nervous system. Physiology of the nervous system. 6. Five basic senses, the principle of sensory information transmission.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 8 hours per semester

  • Homework for Teaching - 13 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 8 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to: - design teaching according to the level of pupils and school requirements; - apply teaching methods in teaching somatology; - to propose practical exercises suitable for teaching somatology; - demonstrate knowledge of the structure and functions of the human body; - understand the function of individual anatomical structures, physiological processes and deduce their interrelationships and dependencies.
After completing the course, students should be able to: - design teaching according to the level of pupils and school requirements; - set goals and create learning tasks to develop pupils' abilities; - apply teaching methods in teaching somatology; - to propose practical exercises suitable for teaching somatology; - to choose adequate didactic means for teaching somatology; - demonstrate knowledge of the structure and functions of the human body; - understand the function of individual anatomical structures, physiological processes and deduce their interrelationships and dependencies.
Prerequisites
- knowledge of human anatomy and physiology - knowledge of pedagogy and didactics - ability to work with curricular documentation

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Didactic Test, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

Credit will be awarded on the basis of passing 3 continuous tests of knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the above topics. The exam will be oral in the scope of the whole subject.
