Course content
|
Nursing concept with a focus on practical experience in medical clinical settings, its characteristics, competence of individual members of the healthcare team by educational attainment, functional positions, etc.; Lesson organization of nursing subjects, particularly its practical part, linking theory with practice; Organization of teaching practice in ongoing clinical medical facilities; Training in the ward or clinic; Evaluation of students with focus on a comprehensive evaluation of its performance, including ethical, client communications and other health care professionals; The most common mistakes of teachers in conducting teaching practice in health care clinical settings; Legal aspects of training in medical clinical settings; Ethical principles of implementation of educational and professional experience in health care clinical settings; Medical supervision in a clinical setting.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is conceived as a block teaching - practice. It takes place in selected departments of a medical facility under the supervision of an experienced teacher. The student works alongside with an experienced teacher who regularly guides students during their practice time, e.g. as a teacher at a secondary medical school for future medical assistants, etc.
After completing the course, students should be able to: - describe the specifics of working in health care - clinical settings, with a focus on nursing staff, the knowledge of its competences by level of education, functional positions, etc.; - characterize the organization of teaching nursing subjects with an emphasis on their practical portion extending in health care - clinical settings; - describe the organization of teaching practice in health care - clinical settings, including the preparation of teaching in these institutions and evaluation of students; - note the most common teachers' mistakes with organizing the teaching practice in health care - clinical settings; - enumerate the main legal and ethical principles of leadership experience in health care - clinical settings; - explain the principle of supervision in health care - clinical facilities, describe their organization and work with the results of supervision.

Assessment methods and criteria

Seminar Work
During the practice, students perform tasks assigned by the, such as preparing a lesson plan, organizing it, creating assignments for pupils and continually evaluating them. At the same time, the student gradually puts together his or her own Portfolio of practice, which includes all relevant information about the progress, including the ongoing implementation of tasks, evaluation etc. Credit will be given on the basis of a statement of practice, the aforementioned portfolio and assessment by the teacher. Part of the credit is supervision practice on which the student participates actively by himself.
