Course content

Injuries as a societal problem. The most common injuries of children and youth in the Czech Republic and in the world, their causes. Possibilities of prevention of child úrazů- basic points of prevention, intervention methods Teaching methods suitable for teaching child injury prevention. The legal basis for ensuring the safety and health of children in schools. The rights and obligations of students and guardians. Safety and health protection in terms of the Education Act. The Safe Community, Safe School. 21 health projects focusing on the prevention of injuries to children. Project Healthy Schools.

Learning outcomes
|
The main objective of the course Child Accident Prevention is to introduce students to the issues of accidents in children and youth, and to the possibilities of their solution. The discipline introduces students to preventive approaches in Europe and in the CR. It focuses on the possibilities of teaching and education in the area of preventing child and youth accidents in the WHO programme, Safe Community, Healthy School, Safe School. The aim is also to clarify the role of teachers in the issue of teaching and education in preventing child accidents. Show possible approaches and ways of teaching this issue on the primary level of education.
After completing the course, students should be able to: - describe the most common causes of child injuries in terms of ontogeny, - propose preventive programs of prevention, - analyze preventive programs focused on child injuries in Europe and in the Czech Republic,. - clarify the role of the teacher of health education in the field of injury prevention.

Knowledge of children biology and first aid in the bachelor degree.
