Course content
Management in nursery care - managers in nursery care (top, middle and lower management). Motivation of the nursery care staff, motives of the employees. Techniques of motivation, tools for motivating, criticizing, and rewarding. Characteristics of teams, specifics of teams in healthcare. Conflicts, conflict diagnostics, conflict solving. Organizational culture in healthcare. Time management. Risk management in healthcare. Crisis management. Organization in healthcare facilities and organizational forms in nursery care. Quality of healthcare and nursery care services. Accreditation in healthcare - The Czech Joined Accreditation Committee and The Accreditation Standards for Hospitals. Standards of nursery care, quality indicators. Competence of the particular categories of healthcare employees according to the current legislative norm.

Learning outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to: - Specify the top, middle and lower management in nursery care - Describe the types of motivation and motives of the nursery care staff, techniques, and tools for motivating, criticizing, and rewarding. - Specify the healthcare team, including the competencies of the particular healthcare staff categories - Characterize the examples of conflicts, their diagnostics and solutions, and organizational culture in healthcare. - Provide information about problematics of time management, risks, and crisis management in healthcare - Define the quality of the healthcare and nursery care services - Describe the accreditations in healthcare and Accreditation Standards for Hospitals.
Students can interpret the knowledge concerning the topics of the course.

Students elaborate a presentation on the chosen topic based on the study of a given literature. Students will obtain the credit after correct elaboration and submission of the presentation.
