Course content |
The course content encompasses fundamental concepts and institutions of family law, the understanding of which enables students to have a basic orientation in family legal relationships and their implementation. The subject matter covers both theoretical foundations and practical perspectives on family law regulations. Lectures are supplemented with demonstrative examples aimed at equipping students with the ability to apply the discussed legal provisions to specific legal situations encountered in the realm of family legal relationships. Course content includes theoretical and practical foundations of the following topics: 1. Family law - the concept of family law, the subject of family law, legal regulations of family law, the Convention on the Rights of the Child. 2. Marriage - the concept of marriage, types of marriages, rights and responsibilities of spouses, termination of marriage, divorce, and its consequences. 3. Registered partnership - the concept of registered partnership, establishment of partnership, rights and responsibilities of partners, termination of partnership, dissolution of partnership, and its consequences. 4. Parental responsibility - the concept of parental responsibility, determination of maternity and paternity, rights and responsibilities of parents towards children, interventions in parental responsibility. 5. Child support - the concept of child support obligations, establishment and termination of child support obligations, types of child support, determination of the amount of child support. 6. Alternative family care - The concept of alternative family care, socio-legal protection of children, forms of alternative family care. 7. Community property of spouses - the concept of community property of spouses, establishment of community property of spouses, scope of community property of spouses, changes in the scope of community property of spouses, management of community property of spouses, termination of community property of spouses. 8. Inheritance - the concept of inheritance law, disqualification from inheritance, disinheritance, renunciation, abandonment of inheritance, liability for the debts of the deceased, inheritance by law, inheritance by will, inheritance contract, legacy.

The objective of the Family Law course is to provide students with a fundamental, comprehensive and legally determined overview of family law regulations. Knowledge of family law is a prerequisite for students to have a basic understanding of the system of family legal relationships and their practical implementation."
After passing the course, students should be able to: characterize family law, ? define family legal relationships, ? explain the formation, invalidity, non-existence, and termination of marriage, describe the relationships between spouses and registered partners, articulate the essence of parentage determination, ? analyze parental responsibility and support obligations among relatives, and categorize alternative family care. |
