Pupils with special educational needs within the education system. Educational and school-based counselling systems. The competences of educational professionals in working with pupils with special educational needs and their peers. Current trends in inclusive education. Pupils with special educational needs in school physical education and other learning activities outside the school premises. Curricular specifics and opportunities related to educating pupils with special educational needs within the school's physical activity programme. Counselling in inclusive physical education and the competences of individual educational professionals. Current issues in inclusive physical education.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: explain the differences between inclusive and special education; understand professional and legislative terminology related to special educational needs; define the various types of special educational needs; understand the position of children, pupils, and students with special educational needs within the class; understand and fulfil in practice the responsibilities of schools and educational professionals in addressing special educational needs; understand and apply in practice the defined roles and responsibilities of educational professionals involved in identifying and addressing special educational needs.
Awareness of opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration to support the inclusion of pupils with special educational needs in school physical education and other subjects. Students understand the expected competences of relevant educational professionals required for the effective delivery of the educational process in an inclusive school environment. |
