Course content
- Legal regulations governing the Integrated Rescue Systems and population protection. - Basic definitions (Integrated Rescue System, emergency situation, rescue and liquidation procedures, population protection, etc.) - Position and coordination of the Integrated Rescue Systems. - Fire Protection Units. - Fire Brigade and Fire Protection Units. - Police of the Czech Republic. - Medical Emergency. - Other Integrated Rescue Systems. - Integrated Rescue Systems and crisis management. - Financing of Integrated Rescue Systems. - Documents of Integrated Rescue Systems. - Roles of public authorities in preparing for and addressing emergency situations and ensuring rescue and liquidation works. - Responsibilities of public authorities in terms of population protection. - Warnings and notifications. - Evacuation. - Emergency survival. - Hiding. - Individual protection of persons. - Humanitarian aid. - Emergency planning. - Floods and flood plan. - Population protection plan until 2025 with a view until 2030.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to analyse the position and roles of the Integrated Rescue Systems in the preparation for and addressing emergency situations and to provide the students with an overview of population protection and emergency planning in preparing for emergency situations. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
- Upon completion of the course the student is able to name the Integrated Rescue Systems of the Czech Republic and their functions. - The student is able to describe the cooperation among the Integrated Rescue Systems - The student knows the basic provisions of Act No. 239/2000 Coll.

Mark, Oral exam, Written exam, Seminar Work

- Active participation in seminars, as a minimum one short thorough presentation about a current issue - Oral and written examination from the content of the course - Submission of a seminar paper on a given topic
