Course content
The course is organized in a three-day block format, with a total duration of 18 hours, and combines both theoretical and practical instruction. 1) The first day is dedicated to an introduction to fire sport, its history, rules, competition structure, and safety principles. Students are introduced, both theoretically and practically, to the disciplines of climbing to the fourth floor of the training tower and the 100-meter obstacle race. 2) The second day focuses on practical training in team disciplines the 4×100-meter relay and the fire attack. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, coordination, technique, and the development of physical performance. 3) The third day is devoted to the completion of the practical credit requirements in individual disciplines and to the final evaluation of student performance. Assessment focuses on technical execution, safety, precision, and active engagement throughout the course. Instruction takes place under the professional supervision of members of the Regional Directorate of the Fire Rescue Service of the Olomouc Region, conducted directly at their training facilities. Part of the practical training is also carried out in cooperation with and in the facilities of the Volunteer Fire Department Olomouc-Chválkovice.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with a specific form of physical and professional training for firefighters. The course provides theoretical foundations and practical skills in the individual disciplines of fire sport, namely climbing to the fourth floor of a training tower, the 100-meter obstacle race, the 4×100-meter relay, and the fire attack. Students will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of fire sport as a means of developing physical fitness, agility, teamwork, and disciplinequalities that form an essential basis for professional performance in the field of fire protection. The course also develops the ability to handle firefighting equipment safely, familiarity with the rules of individual disciplines, and the basics of didactics in this sporting field.
Upon completion of the course, the student: - masters the basic techniques of fire sport disciplines and understands their rules, - is able to perform individual disciplines safely and effectively in accordance with the methodology of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, - understands the importance of physical and technical training in the context of fire protection, - is capable of effective teamwork during collective disciplines, - demonstrates the ability to analyze personal performance, identify errors, and improve technique, - is able to apply safety principles during training as well as in model intervention situations.
Prerequisites
Students should possess an adequate level of physical background, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a willingness to engage actively in physically demanding activities. Previous experience with athletic training or other sports disciplines focused on strength, speed, and coordination is an advantage. Fundamental requirements include adherence to safety principles, compliance with instructors' guidance, and a responsible approach to working with technical equipment.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Credit is awarded based on active participation in all parts of the course, adherence to safety regulations, and successful completion of practical tasks in the individual disciplines of fire sport. Students must demonstrate mastery of basic techniques, adequate physical fitness, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Assessment also takes into account a responsible attitude, discipline, and compliance with the instructors' guidance.
