Course content
- Basics of communication and communication systems, - Basics of networks, network security, - Security policy, - Data protection, - Information systems and crisis management, - Overview of regulations applicable to computer security, - Basics of radio communication, - Operation centres, - Radio communication regulations.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce to the students the issue of ICT in a pre-crisis environment - usual operation and in crisis situations in which ICT systems and usual processes and functions in ICT administration and management cease to work. The course covers ICT security policy, obtaining information about possible ways to address crisis situations in the area of ICT and ICT security management in this context. The aim of the course is also to explain the system of communication among the Integrated Rescue Systems, or crisis management authorities in case of emergency situations. Another aim of the course is to develop media literacy of teachers and employees in the area of population protection with respect to pathological communication events associated with the Internet and mobile phones. The course introduces case studies, legal framework, methods of addressing various issues, potential association with criminal offences, etc. The course focuses on most frequent dangerous communication phenomena - cyberbullying, sexting, happy slapping, cyber grooming, stalking, hoax, spam, risks of social networks, the course also deals with the issue of protection of personal data and abuse of social networks. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student: - Is knowledgeable about communication and information systems, - Knows the basics of information networks and their security, - Knows the applications of information systems in crisis management and is able to use them, - Knows computer security regulations and is able to observe them in practice, - Knows the organization of radio connection in case of emergency situations and the function of an operation centre in terms of communication regulations.

Seminar Work
