History of physical education for pupils with intellectual disabilities Current state of physical education curricula for pupils with intellectual disabilities Practical experience with adaptations and specific aspects of adapted physical activity for pupils with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder Specific aspects of the current approach to expected learning outcomes, minimum recommended attainment levels, and health-oriented and adapted physical education, including a deeper understanding of physical education in special schools Psychomotor therapy in the Czech and international context

Learning outcomes
|
To enable students to understand the specific features of intervention programmes using physical activity for individuals with intellectual developmental disorders, mental health conditions, neurodivergence, or other similar needs.
Upon completion of the course, the student: understands the development of physical education curricula in relation to the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities; is able to anticipate future developments in these curricula; understands current curricula, their purpose, and their importance for pupils with intellectual disabilities; is able to reflect on the role of physical activity in psychomotor therapy for individuals with neurodivergence, mental health conditions, or intellectual disabilities.
