Course content
- History of athletics - Theory of physical preparation of young people aged 12-16 years - Differences in men's and women?s training - Theory of development of speed with a focus on sprints - Theory of development of strength with a focus on shot putting and throwing - Theory of development of endurance with a focus on endurance running - Theory of development of coordination - Theory of development of flexibility - Theory of planning a yearly training cycle for young people aged 12-16 years - Theory of microcycle and macrocycle planning - Theory of planning in sports clubs

Learning outcomes
The aim of the SPAT 1-4, KSPA 1-4 course is to provide the students with a deeper insight into athletic training of children and young people in the area of speed, strength, coordination and endurance skills. This is the third course in a series of specialisation courses focusing on athletics, through which the students have an opportunity to obtain coach qualification - athletics coach. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student has the basic skills required for leading training sessions with a focus on wider specialisation in various disciplines (running, jumping, shot putting and throwing). Leading specialised athletic training for young people aged 12-16 years.
Prerequisites
The course is designed exclusively for students of the first year of Bachelor's study (full-time and combined) of PE teaching combined with another subject, TVS, OCHO and ATV; requirements of the following courses must be met: SPAT2 or KSPA2.

Active participation in classes, seminar paper, preparation and delivery of a model training unit on a given topic.
