Course content
|
Teaching is focused on the practical application of didactic principles in the management of various types of teaching units with a focus on athletic activities. The course is aimed at the history, technique, biomechanics and methodological procedures of various athletic disciplines and their rules. For the purposes of clear presentation of the techniques, analyses of videos of professional as well as student execution of athletic disciplines are performed.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to apply theoretical knowledge about the methodological approach to teaching individual athletic disciplines in practice. To acquaint students with organizational forms of teaching and various types of teaching units that can be used in teaching athletics in primary and secondary schools. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the students are knowledgeable about the methodological procedures of training various athletic disciplines, the history, technique, biomechanics and rules of various athletic disciplines. Students also acquire competencies related to didactic approaches in various types of teaching units and the ability to implement practical teaching of athletic disciplines in all types of schools.

Prerequisites
|
It is anticipated that in the previous (Bachelor's) study the students acquired basic knowledge and skills in various athletic disciplines.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Didactic Test, Seminar Work
Successful implementation of didactic output using the selected type of teaching unit with athletic content. Mastering practical demonstrations of the technique of selected athletic disciplines. Successful organization of athletic disciplines (participation in 3 athletic contests as a referee or organizer).
