Course content
Training of riding mountain bicycles, riding in a group, safety principles and requirements for off-road riding. Training of skills required for riding uphill and downhill. Planning of a cycling tour and rides in a difficult hilly terrain. Teaching organization and division into groups. Observance of safety rules and principles.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present to the students theoretical and practical information about cycling with an emphasis on mountain bicycles. The course focuses on riding technique in a hilly terrain, team leading and knowledge of technical equipment. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student knows the technique of riding a mountain bicycle in a difficult terrain. The student is able to organize and lead a cycling group. The student understands and is able to perform basic maintenance and repair of a mountain bicycle.

Credit: - Active participation in classes (80%), - Successful completion of a test (75%).
