Course content
The course is designed as a weekly block course. During the first 3 days the morning and afternoon blocks focus on the development of individual athletic disciplines included in athletic multi-events. On the last 2 days athletic multi-event are held during which the students can decide on their role of a contestant or organizer/referee. Men: athletic octathlon (100m, long jump, shot put, 400m, 110m hurdles, high jump, javelin throw, 1500m) Women: athletic heptathlon (100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin throw, 800m)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present the information about and deepen the students' experience in athletic multi-events, both in terms of learning new disciplines (discus throw, pole vault) and organizing and refereeing an athletic multi-event contest. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
The students are able to perform athletic disciplines included in the athletic multi-event, both in terms of skills and performance. The students are ready to cope with athletic multi-events in terms of tactics, i.e. selection of an appropriate individual strategy. The students are also able to organize and referee athletic multi-events.
Prerequisites
Completion of the elementary and selected athletics course and successful completion of all credit requirements, both skill-based and performance-based.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Participation in an athletic multi-event as a contestant or organizer/referee. Men: athletic octathlon (100m, long jump, shot put, 400m, 100m hurdles, high jump, javelin throw, 1500m) Women: athletic heptathlon (100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin throw, 800m) Test of athletic rules aimed at refereeing athletic multi-events.
