| Course content |
|
The content of the course is as follows: Theory: history of athletics for individuals with physical impairment, barrier-free access in sports centres, basic classification according to the type of impairment in athletics, basics of the classification system, training principles for various groups of persons with impairment, training principles. Practice: practical sessions covering selected disciplines - throwing in a sitting position, riding a formula, imitation of high jump for persons with amputation, etc., participation in a training session for a person with physical impairment under coach supervision.

The aim of the course is to introduce to the students the area of athletics for athletes with disability, i.e. basics of functional classification, training principles and basic athletic rules of athletics for athletes with disability. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student is able to train a person with physical impairment in athletics. |
