Course content
1) coursebook Navigate Advanced C1 (Oxford) (units 1-6) 2) additional materials, activities and texts from the field of tourism (these materials will be uploaded in moodle.ff.upol.cz under the abbreviation of the course KAL/ACR1) 3) other activities specified by the teacher at the beginning of the semester

Learning activities and teaching methods

  • Homework for Teaching - 50 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the two-semester course is to improve students' skills in both English grammar and ability to express themselves in the field of Tourism and in knowledge of appropriate vocabulary. At the end of a two-semester course, students progress from level B2 to C1 according to the European Framework of Reference.
Expected knowledge of the English language is at the B2 level of the Common European Framework for Languages. Students can understand the main ideas of complex texts in their field, continuously participate in the conversation, are able to write comprehensible texts on a wide range of subjects and explain their viewpoint.
Prerequisites
- Advanced level of English (B2+ according to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages) - Good understanding of spoken English, proficiency both in written and spoken English

Assessment methods and criteria
Essay, Written exam

- Advanced level of English (B2 according to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages) - Attendance max. 2 absences - Active participation in classes - Homework grammar, texts etc. - Passing the final test (min. 70%) - Presentations / other activities to be specified by the teacher at the beginning of the semester.
