Course content

Topics: Receptive and productive language skills. Listening comprehension skill development. Reading comprehension skill development. Speaking skill development. Writing skill development. The teacher's role in the preparation of language skill practice activities. Pair and group work in language skill practice. The role of motivation and a positive classroom atmosphere in language skill practice. Testing and assessment of language skills.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course students will be able to: - choose appropriate methods and techniques for effective language skill practice, - analyse pros and cons of individual, pair and group work in language skill practice, - put learners into pairs and groups effectively for language skill practice activities, - motivate learners effectively for continuous language skill development, - create and use adequate language skill assessment tools.
