Aims: After completing this course students will be able to: - describe the most important historic moments in the history of Great Britain, - outline the way in which individual events follow along a timeline - characterize the importance of the most important figures in the history of Great Britain, - describe the events which over history shaped the contemporary political situation in Great Britain, - select text, video etc, on a theme from British history for use in teaching of English in reference to the Framework Teaching Programme. Topics: Prehistory. Early Middle Ages. Late Middle Ages. The Tudor Period. The Stuarts. The Civil War and the Protectorate. The 18th Century. Victorian England. The Situation in Scotland and Ireland. The Twentieth Century.

Analýza výkonů studenta, Didaktický test, Písemný test
-attendance (no more than 2 absences)more result in having to write an extra essay -participation in classroom discussions -read the assigned readings, -complete the weekly online reading tests -final test, written at the end of the semester, Requirements for students with the individual study plan (ISP) and/or students with special needs: Students with ISP will write an extra written work (essays, 4-5 pages, on a course-related topic approved by the instructor) and post it at the course page in Moodle. Alternately, students with ISP and/special needs meet the adapted course requirements (written and/or oral testing) based on the expert recommendations of The Support Centre for Students with Special Needs.
