Výstupy z učení

Aims: After completing the course students will be able to: - describe the most important historical moments in the history of the United States, - outline the way in which individual events follow along a timeline, - characterize the meaning of the most important figures in US history, - explain the events which over history shaped the contemporary political situation in the United States, - select text, video etc, on any topic from American history for use in teaching English.
Knowledge of American history.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

Analýza výkonů studenta, Didaktický test, Seminární práce, Písemný test
Attendance, reading, participation, weekly tests, final test. Requirements for students with the individual study plan (ISP) and/or students with special needs: Students with ISP will write an extra written work (essays, 4-5 pages, on a course-related topic approved by the instructor) and post it at the course page in Moodle. Alternately, students with ISP and/special needs meet the adapted course requirements (written and/or oral testing) based on the expert recommendations of The Support Centre for Students with Special Needs.
