Course content
|
Topics: Methods and procedures for training selected language systems (vocabulary, spelling). Methods and procedures for training selected language skills (reading and writing). English language textbooks and other teaching materials suitable for primary school level. Different forms of assessment, self-assessment and classification. Principles of testing. Homework assignments. Working with dictionaries. Micro teaching.

Learning outcomes
|
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: o Demonstrate theoretical knowledge in the area of training selected language tools (grammar, spelling) and speaking skills (reading, writing) in AJ classes at primary school level 1, o assess the suitability of language textbooks and other teaching materials for English language at primary school, o demonstrate knowledge of basic assessment criteria and young learners self-assessment, o choose appropriate methods of assessment and testing of young learners in English language classes at primary, o guide young learners to effective homework preparation, use different types of homework, o guide young learners to work effectively with dictionaries suitable for Primary, o apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practical teaching (micro teachings).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student, Seminar Work
- 80% attendance, - active participation in lessons, - timely completion of homework as required by the teacher, - timely submission of a term paper meeting all teacher's requirements. Requirements for students with ISP: - students must complete all tasks set by the teacher during and at the end of the semester - attendance is not compulsory - at the end of the semester, students will be interviewed by the teacher to demonstrate that they independently acquired all the course content dealt with in the lessons
