Course content
Topics: Teaching vocabulary and pronunciation. Teaching listening and speaking. Holistic and activity-based learning. Principles and practical applications of the TPR method. Songs and nursery rhymes in teaching English in primary school. Stories and elements of drama in the teaching of English in primary school. Language games.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: o Demonstrate theoretical knowledge in the area of practicing selected linguistic means (vocabulary) and skills (listening, pronunciation, speaking) in English lessons at primary school level, o effectively and creatively apply the TPR method and the principles of holistic and activity-based learning, o use children's songs, rhymes and stories effectively and creatively in primary school English lessons, o use elements of drama effectively and creatively in primary school English lessons, o select and use appropriate types of language games, o apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practical teaching (micro teaching).

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

80% attendance, active participation in lessons, timely completion of all classwork tasks, timely submission and defence of a portfolio meeting all teacher´s requirements. Requirements for students with ISP: - students must complete all tasks set by the teacher during and at the end of the semester - attendance is not compulsory - at the end of the semester, students might be interviewed by the teacher to demonstrate that they independently acquired all the course content dealt with in the lessons
