Course content
Topics: advertising, conspiracy theories, logical fallacies, misinformation strategies, the scientific method, ideologies, introduction to ethics, introduction to political theory.

Learning outcomes
This course aims to broaden knowledge and awareness of the media in English-speaking countries. After introducing the topic of media literacy, the seminars are devoted to activities in which students will work with different media in order to learn how to critically evaluate media content, to increase their ability to work with information in the media, also in relation to the cross-curricular themes in the curriculum documents. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - better navigate English texts and spoken discourse, - better evaluate the credibility of sources and possible manipulation of the reader/viewer, - articulate their ideas and opinions more clearly in English, - recognize fabrication, misinterpretation, fake news.
