Learning outcomes
The seminar focuses on the topic of literacy in the broader context of functional literacy, working with text (from extracting information from the text to its interpretation) and ways of selecting texts for English language teaching. Students will be introduced to working with texts of different genres in order to increase comprehension and interpretation of text and to be able to work with texts of different genres. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: -- expand their understanding of reading, the basics of proper reading comprehension, -- orient themselves in the types of texts of different genres, -- evaluate the difficulty of a selected text in terms of content and language, -- be able to select a variety of texts for English language learning.
