Course content
The course focuses on teaching language skills and systems of language, integrating fluency and accuracy work, and on correction of errors, language games. The main topics covered during the course are as follows: - Teaching listening. - Teaching reading. - Teaching writing. - Teaching speaking. - Integrating skill work. - Fluency errors and compensation strategies. - Teaching grammar. - Teaching vocabulary. - Teaching pronunciation. - Teaching spelling. - Correcting errors in accuracy work. - Teaching translation. - Principles of using Portfolio and ICT in teaching English.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)

  • Semestral Work - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 32 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 28 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
To be able to teach language skills and systems in English to (primary and) lower-secondary learners. To apply project work and CLIL. To apply Communicative approach to language teaching. To use portfolio apart from other forms of (self-)assessment of learners. To manage language error in classwork effectively.

Credit requirements: - attendance (at least 80%) - active participation - seminar work Oral exam: - oral discussion of DIM1Q and DIM2Q topics.
