Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the classification of the private law, the modifications of key terms, institutes and the continuity of the Civil Code provisions and the Law of Business Associations provisions. The focus will be on the nature and reading of the private law, the new treatment of a natural person including the private and public protection, the legal person - the enumeration, the nature and the authorities, the marital and family law, substantive rights, core concepts and institutes of absolute and relative property rights
Professional knowledge: Students acquire basic professional knowledge about the private law; more precisely about its key regulations. Professional skills: Students will be able to work with the regulations of the private law, to look up the relevant provisions and to put them in connections. General competences: Students will be well informed about the new Civil Code and the Law of Business Associations. This will multiply their opportunities to find an employment.
Prerequisites
To attend Basis of private law no prerequisites are required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

There will be examples and model situations connected to the topics discussed in the lectures. Every student will be obligated to prepare analyses of two examples in each semester and present their opinions in class. The course is terminated in winter semester with a colloquim. The final assessment of the student will be in a written form (test) with predetermined criteria. Students are allowed to be absent for two times in each semester, otherwise the student will be required to write an seminar paper on an assigned topic.
