Learning outcomes
The course focuses on rural development in the Czech Republic, its specific features and key stakeholders, with an emphasis on sustainability. Students will become familiar with the functioning of public administration at the municipal level, strategic documents, and current challenges facing rural areas. The course explains the following concepts: periphery, local action group, sustainable development and strategic documents (Local Agenda 21, the Strategic Framework Czech Republic 2030).
Upon completion of the course, the student will: understand the specific characteristics of rural areas, be familiar with the principles of sustainable rural development, understand key strategic documents.

Student performance, Written exam

During the semester, assignments will be assigned to students through Moodle. Active participation in seminar discussions is expected. Regular attendance is required; a maximum of three absences is permitted. Should an external expert be invited to the class, attendance will be mandatory and will constitute one of the requirements for obtaining credit. The course concludes with a written credit test. Up-to-date materials are available on Moodle from the beginning of the winter term, including all the information needed for credit.
