Course content
|
The course will consist of the following compulsory elements: 1. Obligatory introductory lecture explaining the aim of the course and the role of soft skills in the 21st century. (24.2.2025, 9:45 - 11:15; room KB 1.17) 2. Registering for participation and filling in the informed consent through the link provided by the consortium MEGASKILLS. 3. Taking part in the short initial soft skills assessment via questionnaire 4. Gaming & soft skills training session (in total 15 hours) March 2024. 5. Taking part in the short closing soft skills assessment via questionnaire. 6. Submitting the received participation confirmation provided by the consortium MEGASKILLS via MOODLE as proof of course participation.

Learning outcomes
|
This course, in collaboration with the MEGASKILLS consortium and funded by the European Commission, offers an innovative way to develop essential soft skills for the 21st century through playing computer games. By joining this course, students will: - Enhance Key Soft Skills Through Gaming: Develop crucial skills such as Critical Thinking, Adaptability and Flexibility, and Time Management by playing specially selected computer games to foster these abilities in a fun and engaging way. - Receive a Personalized Assessment: At the end of the course, participants will obtain a personal report with the evaluation of their levels in the key soft skills rained and tested, providing valuable insights for personal and career development. - Contribute to the Research of Soft Skills: By joing the course the students also contribute to the research of soft skills for the 21st century.
The main languge of instruction will be English. The course will focus on developing specific soft skills using computer games. The course will focus in particular on: Adaptability and flexibility; Critical thinking; Problem-solving; Teamwork; Time management

Prerequisites
|
1. Standard PC with internet connection and the following recommendations: - OS: Windows 10 or higher. - Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or better. - Memory: 512 MB RAM. - Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with at least 512MB of VRAM. - DirectX: Version 9.0. - Storage: 5 GB available space. 2. Preinstalled Steam platform (a free gaming platform for hosting computer games).

Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student
To pass the course, the students must follow the course instructions and present the participation confirmation provided by the consortium MEGASKILLS via Moodle. By signing up for the course, students agree to participate in course activities. They also agree not to share any course materials or information disclosed within the student group and with course instructors. All personal data will be collected solely on the basis of signed informed consent and will be processed in strict compliance with the GDPR standards
