Course content


Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes

The student obtains a detailed overview of economic integration in the context of the development of the European Union, understands the causes, objectives, and impacts of European economic integration. The student will get acquainted with the theoretical background of European economic integration, he/she understands the economic context of European integration processes and their origins into the EU. The student will understand the role of the European Union in individual economic areas, familiarize with its institutional set-up, the tools available to the EU and selected European policies. The student will understand the changes in the processes, policies, and governance of European economic integration due to both the historical context and the external influences typical of the current world economy. The student will also learn about the challenges facing the EU in the current globalized world.
Prerequisites
The general knowledge of international economics and politics is required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student, Written exam

The course is completed with passing a credit. Student gets credit for active participation in seminars (max. 2 absences are allowed), making a presentation, writing a seminar work based on the presentation and passing the written test. To pass the test, the student must obtain at least 75% of the possible points.
