1) Introduction to the topic, introduction to literature + the beginnings of economic thought 2) Economic thought of ancient Greece and Rome 3) Roman law and its development in the subsequent period 4) Economic thought in the work of Thomas Aquinas and his predecessors 5) Economic thought in the Czech lands in the Middle Ages 6) The poor and poverty in the Middle Ages

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to explain the origins of economic thinking with an emphasis on their broader context and understanding throughout various historical periods.
Students will acquire better knowledge of economics by getting to know a portion of significant world-famous economists Students will deepen their knowledge of economic thinking with an emphasis on its interpretation based on original texts.
