Course content
Individual learning in a foreign cross-cultural environment The duration of the period abroad is at least 3 continuous months

Learning activities and teaching methods
Methods of Written Work
  • Semestral Work - 20 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 230 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Using experience-based learning the students acquire knowledge in cross-cultural relationships applicable in their future professional practice.
First more tacit and later also explicit knowledge of the influence of cultural specifics on professional relationships and work.
Prerequisites
Completion of KAE/ZIP is recommended

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)

Students in foreign cross-cultural environment have to at least once a week write down their narratives that reflect their cross-cultural experience - i.e. anything they experienced when they had dealt with other people individually or as members of a group or a team and what was influenced by cultural differences. After the end of the stay, students are supposed to analyze their narratives and summarize the lesson learned. There is no given minimum length of their written work but the quality matters. The set of the narratives and the final analysis and summary in English has to be sent to prof. Pavla Slavíčková via her upol email as one file no later than one month after the end of the period abroad.
