Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to introduce cognitive and social aspects of the process of second language acquisition (SLA). We will discuss various factors influencing this process, such as age, personality, motivation and others. Theoretical models of SLA and methodology of research are introduced. Students are asked to present their own research proposal in the field of SLA.
The course provides an overview of the study of second langauge acquisition. Students learn about the kinds of research questions asked by SLA researchers and are introduced to methodology of SLA research. |

Prior completion of UJ00 (Introduction to the study of language) is recommended.

Essay, Student performance, Written exam
1. active participation in seminars 2. studying the assigned literature: completing subtests for each chapter of the textbook 3. Participation in the seminar project. This includes working in pairs on a series of assignments including: - three homework assignments (including making a recording and processing of sample data) 4.
