Learning outcomes
|
This course is an introduction to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). The course will develop awareness of current trends in language teaching and learning. Through a programme of discussions and practical teaching activities we will explore the educational contexts in which English is taught. The course will focus on practical materials that students might find useful in their teaching practice and career. The course aims to help students gain competences in teaching English through activities, discussions and microteaching. In the Master's study programme, these courses are followed by other optional courses under the MTD1 and MTD2 codes, which open in both winter and summer semesters.

A working knowledge of English - level B2+.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student, Visitation
80% attendance (2 absences maximum) active participation in class discussions and activities doing assignments covering all topics (lesson plans, microteaching, activities), homework assignments are obligatory even if the student is not present in class
