The aim of the course is to supplement and expand information and knowledge of listeners in the area of methodology and statistics mainly in terms of practical application and use of the obtained knowledge in scholarly practice, specifically in the areas of social and spiritual determinants of health. The subject will make reference to the specifics of scholarly methods of knowledge as opposed to non-scholarly approaches using the principle of measuring and its application to the subject of analyzing social sciences. Selected designs will be analyzed from the perspective of potential use and their advantages and disadvantages. Part of the subject will be focused on both theoretical principles as well as on practical use of statistical methods using current data. The statistical methods will cover the areas of descriptive and inferential statistics with an emphasis on advanced statistical approaches to regression analysis (analyses of effect, moderation, mediation, misrepresentation). The subject also provides a basic orientation in the issue of publishing scholarly outcomes and evaluating publication outputs.
