Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of qualitative research, that is with current theoretical and practical knowledge in the subject field and its preparation for independent practical application of selected qualitative methods in the area of social and spiritual determinants of health. Students obtain essential knowledge in the area of qualitative research on the theoretical level. They also obtain practical skills: students apply the obtained theoretical knowledge when creating their own project in the area of social and spiritual determinants of health. An emphasis is placed on new trends in the subject field and enabling students, after completing this course, to independently apply the selected methods in their own research. Brief outline: introduction to qualitative research - content and role of qualitative research, definitions, basic qualitative methods, innovative qualitative methods, design of qualitative studies (preparation, protocol, data, sample, collection, processing, report, dissemination), selected qualitative methods and application to the areas of social and spiritual determinants of health.
