The aim of the course is to acquaint students with several basic principles of narrative analysis so as to allow them to test their knowledge practically by analyzing qualitative data (from the area of social and spiritual determinants of health), present their analysis in written work and be able to argue their research findings over the course of the exam interview. The course will involve the basic principles of narrative approaches based on the assumption that a significant part of human experience is structured narratively. In connection with this starting point, several types of narrative analysis will be presented (distinct in the dimensions of "elementary - global" and "content - formal"). Illustrative examples will be presented making use of narrative analysis with a special emphasis on qualitative research in the area of health and spirituality.
