The subject is concerned with the connections between emotions, social determinants and health. It is a known fact and generally accepted that emotions and health are closely linked, although the mechanisms of their mutual influence have not been clearly described until now. Effective processes in the psychology of health are viewed as healthy reactions by individuals to situations and events which have the potential to be a threat or benefit for their health. That which can be evaluated and judged on the continuity of healthy - unhealthy are first and foremost ways of dealing and working with these phenomena, in particular with emotions. Work with emotions and regulation of emotions are an extremely complicated process influenced by intensity (for example, in the sense of decreasing, increasing, maintaining, changes) and valence (positivity, negativity) emotional experience, including initiation / selection / elimination of an emotional experience and an expressive-behavioral reaction / activity (Gross, 1998). The subject will examine emotions, the experience of emotions and their regulation, the phenomenology of emotions and myths in the area of emotions. Regulation of emotions overall is closely linked with how emotions are constructed in our socio-cultural environment. A generally low ability to regulate emotions, whether in the sense of inadequate suppression or expression of emotions is viewed as an indicator of psycho-pathological behaviour and difficulty in working with emotions is linked with less than optimal psychological and physical health. Emotional "disregulation" indicates a low adaptive way of dealing with emotions, for example, in relation to aggression, behaviour malfunctions) or abuse of drugs or medication. There will also be a focus on selected aspects of working with emotions and health as well as the application potential of scholarly knowledge in the social sciences.
