Course content

- Professional roles and principles of cooperation in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments, postmodern thinking. - Client's interest in different contexts. - System of state administration and self-government, networks of public services, evaluation of the quality of social work. - Innovative and reform conceptions of social work, participatory approach, volunteering, ecology and sustainability. - System theories and approaches in social work task approach, individual planning. - Specifics of working with the family, with the patient in health facilities, in educational facilities. Seminars - Case study seminar - approach focused on solving specific cases. - Case study seminar - specific cases using innovations. - Case study seminar - specific cases with clinical social work. - Discussion: possibilities of social entrepreneurship, creation of projects and social work with the community.

The aim of the course Theory and Methods of Social Work 2 is to provide students with knowledge in the field of theories and methods of social work, especially in a broader context in the fields of multiculturalism, systems of state and public administration, specific situations of work with clients that require the cooperation of multidisciplinary teams. Students will learn to apply innovative and reform concepts of social work, participatory approach, including volunteering, ecology and sustainability. Part of the teaching is also the development of competencies in the field of providing social work to the family, patients in medical facilities, in educational institutions. During the seminars, students will learn issues related to specific cases of providing social work to the client (case-by-case approach, e.g. clinical social work, including the use of innovation). The possibilities of social entrepreneurship, project creation and work with the community are discussed.
Student's output competence - Understands professional roles and principles of cooperation in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment; - reflects postmodern thinking in the provision of social work; - respects the client's interest in various contexts of providing social care; - is familiar with the system of state administration and self-government, public service networks and evaluation of the quality of social work; - understands the innovative and reform concept of social work, participatory approach, volunteering; - has knowledge of systems theory and approaches in social work (task approach), including individual planning; - is able to apply in practice the specifics of working with the family, with the patient in health facilities, in educational facilities; - gain an idea of the possibilities of social entrepreneurship, including the creation of projects.
