Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as both theoretical and practical. It focuses on the psychology of patients. It aims to better knowing of the patient, understanding his or her needs and the problems caused by the illness. It develops knowledge of mental hygiene, prevention of burnout syndrome, coping strategies, telling the diagnosis, iatropathogenesis, etc. It acquaints with the psychological issue of the personality of a non-medical health worker
After completion of the subject student will know problematics of the psychology of health and illness, the possible effects of the illness on the psyche, will be acquainted with the possible influences of the medical environment on the patient and the medical staff, will professionally identify and saturate the psychological needs of their patients and members of their families, understand and apply the systemic approach to psychosomatic problems of patients, know their dynamics and understand the psychological risks related to healthcare environment.

Student performance

- participation in lessons, active engagement in lessons, oral presentation of selected topic in the field of medical psychology in the range of 20 minutes
