Course content
|
Seminars: 1) To acquaint optometry students with the meaning and content of the educational role of a healthcare professional. 2) Introduce the conditions, processes of education, forms and methods of education. Formulation of education goals. 3) Distinguish the target groups of education. Explain the education design algorithm. 4) Conceptual apparatus of theory and practice of education. 5) Based on the knowledge of the assumptions of educated clients, explain the specific peculiarities of education. Exercises: Explanation of the possibility of using educational methods and forms based on the reconnaissance of clients' needs and their training. Suggestions for various educational options. Creating an educational project scenario.

Learning outcomes
|
Within this study course, the orthoptist learns how to perform educational interventions for determined and undetermined target groups and for individuals. He/She learns how to project special educational modules at a professional level, utilizing pedagogical principles and methods for this aim.
The student applies knowledge of didactic methods in a concrete healthcare context, in educational situations for target groups of lay patients. The student created an educational project.
