Topics: 1) Human body 2) Body systems 3) Diseases, injuries, conditions 4) Medication 5) Taking history - assessment, pain 6) Introduction to academic English This subject consists of 15 hours of in-class instruction and 39 hours of out-of-class study.

Learning outcomes
|
Students develop their general English competency. They master basic healthcare terminology, broaden their knowledge of grammar at an intermediate level with an insight into the specific features of healthcare English and improve their speaking and reading skills in English. They master a basic level of healthcare English necessary for their profession, with focus on communication with patietns.

Prerequisites

Competence in English at least at the CEFR reference level A2/B1 - pre-intermediate.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Seminar attendance 80%. Active participation in classes. Completing assigned tasks. Credit test.
