Course content
Main topics (blocks) of teaching: - Theoretical foundations of pedagogy. Pedagogy as a science. Terminology, goals, structure of pedagogy. Basics of didactics. - Health education for all age groups, in the family and in the community. - Concept of communication. Social communication on a personal and professional level. Verbal and non-verbal communication, metacommunication. Communication in healthcare. The art of conversation. Empathy, devaluing and evaluative expressions. - Principles of communication for all age groups, communication with minorities, communication with selected groups of patients.

Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as a theoretical-practical unit, which is aimed at acquiring basic knowledge of pedagogy as a science that examines the essence, structure and regularities of education and training as a deliberate, purposeful and systematic activity that shapes a person's personality in various spheres of social life. Students will become familiar with the basics of didactics and its use in the educational impact of public health support and protection assistants on people of all age groups, their family and community, as well as participants in qualification and lifelong education. It specifies the communication process in more detail, the basics of verbal and non-verbal communication in healthcare, communication with all age groups and with selected groups of patients, practical exercises.
