Learning outcomes
|
This course aims at increasing student proficiency in English in the area of Midwifery. Students develop their knowledge of general English, acquire basic and specialized terminology, learn how to read and understand technical texts and translate them to Czech. The aim of the course is to strengthen competence in using English to communicate in the workplace, with the patient, client, colleagues and other healthcare staff, and also when reading technical texts. It supports continued learning and professional growth in the selected field.
Competencies acquired: ability to use the language in communication with patients/clients and colleagues, ability to read and comprehend scientific texts.

Prerequisites
|
Competency in English at level B1 CEFR.
HUM/IPC03 and HUM/IPC01 and HUM/IPC03

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Written exam
80% attendance, active participation in seminars, home preparation for classes, completing assigned tasks, final oral exam.
