Course content |
Introduction to the human physiology. Organism and environtment, principles of homeostasis, and mechanism of its maitenance. Biological membranes. Physiology of the blood and its function in the body, immunity. Physiology of the cardiovascular system, and the respiration. Digestion and absorption, metabolism. Physiology of the excretion. Regulation of the body temperature. Glands with internal secretion. Reproduction. Nerve system, autonomous nerve system. Physiology of the sensoric systems with special regards to physiology of the eye.

Learning outcomes |
Human physiology is a dynamic science studying the functions of normal healthy human organism, and it treats of its development, regulation, and integration.
The aim of the study is obtaining of the basic theoretical and practical knowledge which are necessary for understanding of normal function of the cells, tissues, and organs, such as obtaining of essential information about their control and integration with particular regard to the bachelor education of optometry. Students know fundamental methods of working and procedures in physiological laboratory. Mastering the contents of the course is a prerequisite for further study of preclinical and clinical disciplines. |
