Course content
Definition of Rehabilitation. Basic movement disorders, rehabilitation examination. Pasive movement, shortened muscles, contractures. Positioning. Basics of Breathing Gymnastics. Active movement, individual and group rehabilitation exercise. Vojta method. Conditioning exercise, ergotherapy. Verticalization and locomotion. Kinesiotherapy in Gynecology - Mojžíšová's infertility exercise, exercise in incontinence, menstruation problems, after vaginal and abdominal gynecological surgeries; midwife and physiotherapist cooperation. The possibilities of influencing the pregnancy changes via means of kinesiotherapy, methodological rules and principles; contraindications. Alexander Method. Particularities of first six weeks post-partum; methodological rules and principles of kinesiotherapy in first six weeks post-partum. Practical use and exercise leadership.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as a theoretical and practical unit for midwives. It is a part of the Nursing, midwifery, gynecology, and obstetrics subject. Students are introduced to the basics of rehabilitation and its use in midwifery.
Upon the completion of the course students will be able to actively contribute to the support of health and prevention of possible complications in obstetrics-gynecology care.
