Course content
|
Pain definition. Neurophysiological basis for pain perception. Melsack-Wall Theory. Modern theories of pain origin and distribution, CNS projection. Autonomous NS and pain relation. Ephapse phenomenon, sprouting, pain fixation theory. Possibilities for influencing the pain - pharmacological and non-pharmacological on the NS periphery and in CNS. Reflexology in pain treatment. Pain and psychosomatics. Mental aspects of long-term pain. Social and societal aspects. Physiotherapists possibilities in pain treatment.

Learning outcomes
|
Pain - the neurophysiological basis for pain origin; possibilities for pain management - pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment; pain and psychosomatics in individual diagnosis; physiotherapeutic means for pain management.
Students will be able to use theoretical knowledge and the possibilities of kinesiotherapy in dealing with pain with individual patients.
